Who we are
Sacred Seasons Birth is owned and operated by Kelli Stone, a 5 year veteran in the placenta encapsulation space who studied the process under her midwife. In January of 2020, Kelli bought the placenta encapsulation portion of her midwife’s practice and transformed it from a side hustle to one of the most competitive companies in the DFW metroplex, offering strictly placenta encapsulation to women regardless where they gave birth. In July of 2022, Kelli sold her business after her family moved to the mountains of northcentral Arkansas.
Over the past 2.5 years, it became very apparent that the women of Arkansas do not have a strictly placenta encapsulation provider anywhere in the state. Kelli couldn’t ignore the calling any longer and decided to launch Sacred Seasons Birth that is currently serving the northcentral Arkansas and Southcentral Missouri region, but will launch a nationwide shipping program in the near future.
Sacred Seasons Birth is modeled very closely after the business Kelli operated in the DFW metroplex. The following are just a few examples of what clients can expect with Sacred Seasons Birth as their placenta encapsulation provider.
Direct access to Kelli 24/7/365. There is no such thing as an answering service or business hours. Babies are born at all time of day, but a vast majority arrive late in the evening or early morning.
Client advocacy.. One of the areas most placenta encapsulation companies is severely lacking in is advocacy for their clients. Many states have legislation that protects a woman’s right to her placenta, in its entirety (Texas HB1670). However, this does not deter some facilities or providers from manipulating their patients into not keeping their placentas, or outright taking the placenta from the client. Kelli has crafted a very comprehensive protocol for clients to follow to help protect their placenta from such things, but should the client experience pushback, they have unfettered access to Kelli, who will help advocate for them. This leads to a much higher success rate of their placenta safely leaving the facility.
Secured chain of custody. Sacred Seasons Birth does not contract out with medical couriers for two reasons:
1. keeping the cost to the client as affordable as possible
2. guaranteeing a secure chain of custody for the placenta.
Placentas are irreplaceable organs, that have been perfectly curated to each individual woman, by her very own body. Entrusting an unknown individual to transport the placentas is not a risk Sacred Seasons Birth is willing to take. Having our own placenta encapsulation specialist transport the placentas, we guarantee the security and proper allocation of each one.
Postpartum follow up for each client. Sacred Seasons Birth highly values the experience of each client. Approximately one week after the client’s capsules have been delivered, she with receive a survey that we strongly encourage her to fill out using completely honest answers. Clients are not required to provide their name, unless they are comfortable doing so. Consistent collection of anecdotal evidence from each client provides an invaluable collection of data that allows us to continue to provide nothing up excellent product and services to the women we have been entrusted to serve during one of their most sacred seasons in life.
Unmatched quality standards. Most companies will not tell you that there is no such thing as a governing board or centralized certification process to call oneself a “certified encapsulation specialist”. There are many companies that offer educational courses on the process and then provide a certificate of the completed course, but again, this is not governed by any central or governmental agency. Sacred Seasons Birth strictly adheres to OSHA’s standard of sanitation and PPE, and Kelli maintains her blood borne pathogens and food handlers certification, as an added layer of reassurance to clients. Sacred Seasons Birth has a full kitchen dedicated strictly to placenta encapsulation, located in a bungalow, 15 yards from Kelli’s family home. Only one placenta is encapsulated at a time to ensure there is zero cross-contamination. Every placenta, the shelf it sits on in the refrigerator, the dehydrator, encapsulation machine and packaging are labeled with the client’s name, the date, and preparation process to ensure the client receives her placenta prepared properly.
