Placenta Encapsulation

Choose a preparation method: Simple Preparation, Traditional Chinese Method, or half-and-half. After fully dehydrating the placenta, it's ground to a fine powder and tightly filled into size 0 vegan capsules.

  • With this process, the placenta is not exposed to extra heat (steam) before dehydration, so it remains its regular size and retains a bit more of its hormonal content. A healthy placenta prepared in Simple Prep produces about 80–200 capsules. Clients report a quicker return of energy with these capsules, though the effects may diminish sooner.

  • The placenta is gently steamed with herbs—organic lime, grated ginger, and fresh jalapeño—before dehydration. The steaming process slightly shrinks the placenta and alters hormones at the molecular level. Many clients report capsules prepared in TCM give a gentler, longer-lasting energy boost. A healthy placenta processed in TCM produces about 80–180 capsules. If any of the following apply to you, this is likely the best option.

    • sensitive to caffeine

    • prone to reflux

    • sensitive to aftertastes

    • positive test results for Group B Strep, STI’s, or other microbial concerns

    • meconium is present at birth

  • Ideal for first-time moms or anyone undecided about a preparation method. Get the benefits of both: half your placenta prepared with Simple Preparation and the other half using Traditional Chinese Method (TCM). Capsules are packaged and clearly labeled separately.

  • Available to clients who live more than 2 hours away from Mountain View, Arkansas. Requires a $150 non-refundable deposit for the placenta collection kit that is shipped to you by 36 weeks of pregnancy or can be expedited (within 24-48 hours) for an additional $50.

Salves & Tinctures

These items can be added to your encapsulation order and aren’t sold separately.

  • Add a placenta tincture to your postpartum routine to get more benefits from your placenta. Each tincture is a concentrated liquid made from a small piece (about 1”×1”) of raw placenta soaked in 80-proof, gluten-free vodka and left to cure for at least six weeks.

    • prevent or help alleviate headaches

    • lessen menstrual cramps

    • assist with heavy menstrual flow

    • prevent or help alleviate mood dysregulation caused by hormone fluctuations

    • alleviate menopause symptoms

  • A must-have for moms! A deeply nourishing balm made with organic oils, butters, herbs, and a small amount of your placenta powder (about 5 capsules). Ingredients are gently heated and steeped for hours to draw out the herbs’ benefits and the placenta’s healing properties, creating a soothing salve. No preservatives or essential oils are added, so it is safe on sensitive skin.

    Due to the hormone content, this product is not recommended for use on your baby.

  • A soothing balm for babies and nursing mothers. Crafted the same way as the placenta salve, but without placenta powder, it’s perfect for cracked or sore nipples and doesn’t need to be washed off before breastfeeding.

    • cracked/sore nipples

    • baby acne

    • diaper rash

  • Each placenta encapsulation order comes with a natural finish umbilical cord keepsake, in your preferred shape (cord length permitting). We also offer painted cord keepsakes! Choose between one of the following finishes

    If you have a special request for a color that is not already in our inventory, we will do our best to accommodate your request. Special request colors are $10

  • Each order includes two unique placenta prints made with the residual fluids of the placenta, then pressing high quality watercolor paper gently onto the baby’s side (smooth side with the umbilical cord) and slowly peeling the paper back to reveal a “stamp” of the placenta. The first order of prints is $35 and each additional set is $10 each.
